Every year approximately 20,000 Grey Whales swim from their breeding lagoons in Baja, Mexico
and journey 10,000 kilometres (6,000 miles) north to the Bering Sea and Chukchi Sea to forage
for food.
These "wandering giants" pass by the West Coast of Vancouver Island starting at the beginning
of March and 15 – 20 resident grey whales settle in around the Barkley Sound area where they
stay in our local waters to forage and feed until the end of September.

Our Whale Watching Seafaris are quite literally
voyages of discovery, where all aspects of the
ocean ecosystem are experienced. While we
encounter whales on 98% of our Seafaris, we
pride ourselves on not missing out on all the
beauty and wonder of the area. Seafari
excursions are designed to explore and observe
a variety of eco-systems and marine animals,
undisturbed in thier natural habitat.
Comments from our guests tell us that they
appreciate the nice relaxed pace, allowing time
for stories, fascinating facts and more!
3 hour fully interpretive nature experience including First Nations' history, first settler history,
marine history, on-water stops to see ancient First Nations' village sites, close-ups of intertidal
life, Grey Whale and Humpback Whale feeding patterns, sea lions & seal colonies, bird colonies
and lots of great stories.
We strive to experience nature unencumbered by the presence of other tour boats, and place the
comfort of wildlife above all else. We adhere to a strict no-disturbance policy.
